To start the New Year in style, we have decided to try something new: a recipe on video!
I am no Jamie Oliver, so it won't have the wow factor associated with TV cooking shows or MasterChef.
So tell me what you think honestly and we will try to improve from what has been a "spirit of the moment" kind of thing. It is far from perfect, but it is based on a genuine recipe from my Mum, whose recipes "cahiers" I inherited a few months ago. This is my first attempt at sharing her knowledge and her passion for family cooking. She has been married to Dad for almost 65 years and cooked three meals a days for a family of four for a quarter of a century and then for Dad for the rest of those years, with the not so rare occasion when we would come and stay for a few days with our families!
And obviously, it was a time for celebrations and more elaborate cuisine for up to ten people at times...
